Every summer, Shropshire Petal Fields become one of the most beautiful places for an outdoor family photoshoot. Rows of colourful flowers, open countryside and soft summer light make the fields such a special backdrop for relaxed and natural photographs.
I have photographed sessions at Shropshire Petal Fields before, and they are always some of my favourite galleries to deliver. The fields give children plenty of room to explore, move and play, which allows me to photograph families as they naturally are rather than asking everyone to stand still and smile at the camera.
Previous Shropshire Petal Fields Sessions
During my previous petal field photography sessions, I loved watching children explore the rows of flowers, holding their parents’ hands and stopping to look at all the different colours around them.
The setting creates so many opportunities for natural photographs, children running through the pathways, siblings walking together, quiet cuddles and those little in-between moments that often become the most meaningful images.
No two sessions look exactly the same. Each family brings their own connection, personality and energy, and the colourful fields provide a beautiful background without taking attention away from the people in the photographs.
Relaxed Family and Motherhood Photography
My sessions at Shropshire Petal Fields are relaxed and child-led. You don’t need to worry about your children behaving perfectly or everyone looking at the camera. I’ll gently guide you when needed, but there will also be lots of space for your family to walk, cuddle, play and simply enjoy being together. The fields are also perfect for a motherhood photoshoot. Mums are so often the ones behind the camera, and these sessions are a lovely opportunity to create photographs that show your connection with your children.

The soft summer light, natural colours and peaceful countryside create timeless maternity photographs that celebrate this special chapter before your baby arrives. Sessions can include your partner and children too, making them a lovely way to document your growing family.
What to Wear for a Petal Field Photoshoot
Soft, natural and earthy colours photograph beautifully against the bright flowers. Cream, beige, soft pink, muted blue, sage green and warm neutral shades are all lovely choices.
Simple dresses, linen, gentle textures and outfits that coordinate without matching exactly will help your photographs feel natural and timeless. I’m always happy to help with outfit ideas before your session.

I’ll be returning to Shropshire Petal Fields on Saturday 8th August 2026 for a limited number of family, motherhood and maternity photography sessions.
